Open Office is similar to the Microsoft Office Suite. It is compatible with the Microsoft programs, so if you’re working on a word document in Open Office, you can save it so a Microsoft Office Word program will read it. The Open Office suite includes programs like word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and databases. Open Office is also available in a wide variety of languages because the software is created and updated around the world.
The following is a product description from the OOo site. The unerlined names of the software will also take you to that particular site for a more in depth description and download.
